Accounting Bookkeeper

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accounting Bookkeeper role based in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. The Accounting Bookkeeper will maintain accurate books, record daily financial transactions, and prepare journal entries in support of the firm’s accounting and tax services. Responsibilities include reconciling bank and credit card accounts, assisting with the preparation of financial statements, and updating ledgers in accounting software. The role also involves organizing client records, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, and communicating with clients and team members to resolve discrepancies. The Accounting Bookkeeper will collaborate closely with CPAs and other staff to ensure timely and compliant financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong bookkeeping skills, including maintaining ledgers and recording Journal Entries (Accounting).
• Experience preparing or assisting with Financial Statements and understanding basic Finance concepts.
• Proficiency with Accounting Software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar platforms) and comfort working with digital records.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts accurately.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on reconciliations and resolving variances.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with clients and internal team members.
• Ability to work on-site full time in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ and collaborate in a professional office environment.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Prior experience in a public accounting firm or similar professional services environment is a plus.
