Good Game Collective partners with the owners of great youth sports and enrichment programs, bringing capital, systems, and community so they can grow and reach more kids. We are parents, coaches, and operators, and we built Good Game to be a different kind of partner: stewardship over extraction, partnership over pressure, long-term development over short-term wins.
We are hiring a Staff Accountant to run the day-to-day accounting across our partner businesses, from the monthly close to accounts payable and receivable, reporting directly to our VP of Finance & Accounting.
This role is built for someone who wants to do this work well for a long time. We are not dangling a title track. What we offer is a clearly defined lane, the autonomy to run it your way, a modern finance stack, and a team that notices when the close lands clean.
The salary range for this role is $68,000 - $78,000 per year.
What You Will Own
- The monthly close across multiple entities: journal entries, accruals, amortization, and reclass and allocation entries.
- Reconciliations – bank, credit card, and balance sheet – including tracking down the items that do not tie.
- Accounts payable and receivable across the entities: payments, invoicing, collections, and keeping both subledgers tied to the GL.
- Clean, GAAP-compliant general ledgers across every business in the family.
- Monthly reporting and analysis for leadership and ownership, working with teams across the company to get the data right.
- Audit support, lender requests, and compliance needs.
- The manual steps in our process, and the automation that replaces them.
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Solid GAAP knowledge and comfort working in a cloud-based ERP (Campfire, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar).
- Strong Excel skills and hands-on experience using AI to do accounting work. We use Campfire, Ramp, Claude, and Google Workspace daily.
- The kind of attention to detail where reconciliations actually reconcile.
- Comfort with change. We are growing, and the systems, processes, and entity list will all shift along the way.
Helpful, Not Required
- Multi-entity or full-cycle accounting experience.
- Accounts payable and receivable experience.
- Time in a private equity-backed or multi-site organization.
- CPA licensure.
Why You Will Like It Here
- Clear ownership of a defined scope, and the autonomy to run it your way.
- A direct line to the VP of Finance & Accounting. Short decision chains, very little politics.
- A modern, AI-enabled finance stack instead of a decade of accumulated workarounds.
- A predictable rhythm outside of close, and a team that respects your time.
- Hybrid schedule in Salt Lake City.
