Key Responsibilities For The Project Accountant

• Manage customer invoicing, project billing activities, and accounts receivable collections.
• Support accounts payable processing, vendor relationships, and payment administration.
• Maintain accurate job cost records and ensure project financial data remains current and reliable.
• Prepare and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and project performance reports.
• Serve as the Project Accountant partnering with project managers to resolve billing, costing, and financial reporting issues.
• Assist with account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and ongoing financial reporting requirements.

Qualifications For The Project Accountant

• 2+ years of accounting experience within construction, engineering, contracting, or another project-driven environment.
• Strong understanding of project accounting, job costing, and financial reporting principles.
• Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of construction billing, progress billing, or AIA billing processes is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
